Grace Monge

Grace Monge was born and raised in México City and started painted at a very early age; she started with borrowed material from her artist aunt; around 15 her dad bought her very first easel, brushes and oil paints. 

She has always loved painting and art, at 18 she traveled to Italy to study art and get to know the work of the great artists like Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Picasso, Velazquez, Remedios Varo and others; that made her passion for art and painting to get even bigger. 

Her favorite media is oil and pastel. She is an eclectic artist and tries different techniques and styles; she can go from realism, surrealism to abstract, likes collages, contrasts, textures and color mixtures which she acquired from her Mexican background.

She is retired and lives in Colorado with her husband Lou who is a great supported and admirer of her passion. For her; being retired doesn’t mean resting since she is studying her master in education and exhibits her work in a gallery in Denver, loves music, being around her friends, her children, grandchildren and she is passionate about life, kindness and her Faith in the Lord.
